Louie is embarrassed by his parents junk. His father encourages him to use his imagination to see the junk as treasure.  Soon Louie and his friends are blasting off on a journey through space.
This would be a cute book to use in art. You can have students make projects out of unusual objects such as Popsicle sticks, felt, or paper bags. You can also read this book to introduce a lesson on space. It also is a good book to use to encourage students to be creative.
