Brief Summary and How to Use With Students:
Worried that the Circumscribers may be preparing for war, King Arthur calls a meeting of his most trusted knights. After returning home from the first day of meetings Sir Cumference complains to his wife, Lady Di, the long rectangular table they must sit at causes him to have to shout and his throat to hurt. They then work to create a new shape for the knights table. After several tries Sir Cumference is able to solve the knight’s problem by making a round table for them to sit at.
This book is best for students in fifth or sixth grade. It is a great way to introduce how to find circumference and area of circles as well as other geometric shapes. It also allows students to learn the relationships shared between these shapes.
